A Story Begins

After graduating from the Montessori Teacher Education program and obtaining her certification (which is a world-wide recognized MACTE diploma), and after working in a Montessori School as a teacher, I knew that she finally living my passion. She decided to take it a step further and use her life-long business experience and mix it with her passion of working with young children.

As a busy mother of three, what better decision to make than to be with her own children and practice her craft in a school of her own! Since taking that first leap, Dina has single-handedly grown DMS Montessori from one child, from the ground up, into what it is today.Dina has an unwavering and genuine passion for children and is dedicated to your family every day

What's in a Name?

"From the Founder"

My daughter said to me one day, "Mommy, you should call your school, 'Dina's Montessori School!'"  Although it fits and DMS are also my initials, my choice to finalize DMS as part of my preschool's name were for reasons more meaningful.

The 'D' represents the daily dedication I have to your child.  Every single day counts to ensure your child is happy and healthy and that their developmental needs are met.  Your child is a precious gift and I am dedicated to helping to guide your child to reach their fullest potential in all areas of development.  That is my promise.

The 'M' represents simply how absolutely connected I feel with the Montessori approach to Early Childhood Education.  I believe in this scientifically proven method of Early Childhood Education wholeheartedly.  I knew from the moment I first researched this pedagogy that it was completely in line with my own views, morals and values.  I graduated from the MACTE program, and after working in a Montessori school as a lead teacher, I was convinced that I was meant to do this.  I am so excited to share time with you and your child and to watch them grow and develop through this beautiful program at the most important time of their life.  I can't wait to watch your child reap all the benefits of this proven educational program.

The 'S' represents the word synoptic.  This word put simply means "the love of wisdom emerging from a coherent understanding of everything together."  It seems complex and rather deep, and it sort of is.  The word resonated with me long ago for personal reasons but I thought of ways to relate it to my work in Montessori also.  Just as the Montessori pedagogy is sometimes difficult to explain simply or in a minute's time because it has many different layers and complexities, so is it difficult to define this word.  You may not understand everything about the Montessori way at surface level, but it is so beautiful when you see everything coming together as your child grows.  With this growth comes an enhanced understanding of the impact Montessori has on your child and family, along with many moments of awe.  It is truly remarkable when you see a preschooler achieve various advancements for their typical age or how a three year old can show such strong manners and empathy for others. The daily exposure to the Montessori method proves to enhance their innate abilities often to a surprising level.  It makes sense when you hear, "that's a Montessori child."

A Montessori teacher needs to feel and really live the philosophy each day.  For me, entering the field of Montessori education in the first place was a choice I made based on a wholehearted belief in the Montessori philosophy and pedagogy.  It become more evident that I was meant for this when I became immersed in the Teacher's Education program where I learned and truly grasped a deep understanding of how complex everything about the Montessori program truly is.  Montessori teachers truly LIVE the method and this is a beautiful thing if it is mixed with an innate desire to teach and a strong genuine care for the child.  We need to understand the method and philosophy at a deep level in order to effectively teach it to our children.  This is why good Montessori teachers make all the difference in the education your child receives - this is invaluable.

Teaching "the whole child" as we do in Montessori school, is an incredible concept.  Ages 0-6 are the most important years of a person's life.  The Early Childhood stage of life literally sets a foundation for the future in all areas from attitude about education, character development, behavioral habits, their cognitive potential and so much more.  So many skills are learned from how to effectively share, take turns, how to effectively communicate through use of words, respect for each other and ourselves, how to learn manners, grace and courtesy, and kindness, and more - all of which are important in all stages of life that follow.  Children learn about their own environment but also about the World around them on a macro scale.  Children learn through concrete and REAL experiences, positive modelling and consistency at this stage.  Your child can and will make a difference in the World around them and it starts with a solid foundation as young humans.  After all, their experiences during this time last a life-time.
